Central America

Central America – I wasn’t really sure whether to add these countries to North America or South America; they’re kind of their own animal, so I have to give them their own category!

Central America is a land of untamed beauty. With countries like Mexico, Belize, Honduras, Costa Rica, and Panama, there’s a little something for everyone. When you think of a tropical paradise, this is it. Beautiful beaches, wild jungles, huge waves, rolling fields, Mayan temples, natural pools, abundant wildlife, vast caverns, tropical islands, and some of the most gorgeous sunsets you’ll ever see.

Central America connects North America and South America. While technically on the continent of North America, Central America deserves its own shout out.

One of the most incredible things about Central America is that it is the gate between the East and the West. The only way from the Pacific Ocean to the Atlantic Ocean is through the Panama Canal, a man-made canal that cuts across Panama for maritime trade.

Most of the countries speak Spanish as a primary language. Probably the only exception is Belize, which was a British territory until 1964; all Belizeans speak English and Spanish.

Don’t listen to any stereotypes or negativity about Central America. The countries are beautiful and filled with wonderful, friendly people. If you get the chance to visit this tropical paradise, take it!
