New Jersey

New Jersey is located on the East Coast of the United States to the south of New York State, to the east of Pennsylvania, and to the north of Washington, D.C. New Jersey is broken into 21 counties. It’s bordered on the east by the Atlantic Ocean, on the west by the Delaware River and Pennsylvania, to the north by the Hudson River and New York, and to the south by the Delaware Bay and Delaware. It’s considered a Mid-Atlantic state. New Jersey is abbreviated NJ. It’s the fourth smallest state but the 11th most populous state and the #1 most densely populated state of all 50 states. NJ is the 2nd wealthiest state by median household income.

The capital of New Jersey is Trenton, but more famous cities include Atlantic City, Cape May, and Jersey City. Newark and Camden are among the most dangerous cities in the country. New Jersey is located just across the Hudson River from New York City, just across the Delaware River from Philadelphia, and just a ferry ride away from Delaware.

The Jersey Shore is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the country for the beautiful, long stretch of coast New Jersey has to offer. The beaches provide fine, white sand with plenty of beach space. Some coastal towns offer a boardwalk with amusements and attractions. Most of the Jersey Shore is quiet during the fall, winter, and spring, but it’s so popular in the summer that you must book accommodations in January to guarantee lodging for a visit!
